7 Day Jbel Saghro Atlas Mountain Trek

Route

Ouarzazate → Jbel Saghro Circuit → Ouarzazate

Duration

7 Days

Seven days through the Jbel Saghro — a volcanic massif of towering rock pinnacles, deep gorges and ancient Ait Atta Berber territory between the High Atlas and the Sahara. An ideal winter trek for those seeking genuine remoteness, dramatic scenery and a slower, more immersive journey through one of Morocco's least-visited landscapes.

We believe the best journeys feel personal — with the flexibility to tailor everything from activities and accommodation to pacing and the route itself.

Highlights

The Jbel Saghro is unlike anything else in Morocco — a volcanic massif of towering rock needles, deep gorges and lunar landscapes between the Atlas and the Sahara.

Trek through the ancient territory of the Ait Atta — the last Berber tribe to resist French colonisation — whose fortified villages and nomadic culture remain largely intact.

A perfect winter trek (October to April) when the High Atlas is snowbound — the Saghro sits lower and warmer, offering dramatic, accessible trekking year-round.

Days of genuine solitude — nomadic shepherds, migrating herds and some of the least-visited landscapes in Morocco.

Overnight in traditional Berber tents and simple village guesthouses throughout — guided by expert licensed mountain guides who know every route and water source.
