Duration

Full Day

We believe the best journeys feel personal — with the flexibility to tailor everything from activities and accommodation to pacing and the route itself.

Highlights

Walk the 18th-century Skala de la Kasbah sea wall ramparts with sweeping views over the Atlantic — one of the most striking viewpoints in Morocco.

Wander the blue-and-white medina lanes, past artisan studios producing thuya woodwork, jewellery and marquetry.

A harbour-side seafood lunch — choose your fish fresh from the ice and have it grilled to order with the Atlantic right in front of you.

Drive through argan forest on the way — keep an eye out for the famous tree-climbing goats of the Haha region.

A complete change of pace from Marrakech: cooler, quieter and deeply charming — only three hours away by private car.

Marrakech to Essaouira via the Argan Forests

Depart Marrakech early and travel west through the argan forests of the Haha region — keep an eye out for the famous tree-climbing goats along the roadside. Arrive in Essaouira by mid-morning. Begin with a walk along the Skala de la Kasbah ramparts — the 18th-century sea walls — for open views over the crashing Atlantic. Descend into the medina and wander the rue de la Skala, lined with artisan studios producing thuya woodwork, jewellery and paintings. Browse the artisan souks and fish market, then head to the harbour for a famous Essaouira seafood lunch — pick your fish fresh from the ice.
