4 Day South Morocco Desert Experience from Ouarzazate

5 • 4 traveller reviews

Route

Ouarzazate → Skoura → Todra Gorge → Erg Chebbi → N'kob → Zagora → Draa Valley → Ouarzazate

Duration

4 Days

Four days through the deep south of Morocco — from the Skoura palm oasis and the Todra Gorge to the Erg Chebbi dunes, the village of N'kob and the Draa Valley. A complete Saharan circuit from Ouarzazate, covering two very different desert landscapes and the finest valley scenery the region has to offer.

We believe the best journeys feel personal — with the flexibility to tailor everything from activities and accommodation to pacing and the route itself.

Highlights

Four days through the finest landscapes of Morocco's deep south — entirely from Ouarzazate and back.

The Skoura Oasis, the Rose Valley and the Dadès Valley — three of the south's most iconic and beautiful routes in a single day.

Walk the Todra Gorge — a breathtaking natural corridor carved through the Atlas.

A sunset camel ride into the Erg Chebbi dunes and a night in a fully equipped Berber camp under the desert stars.

N'kob — the village of 45 kasbahs — with a panoramic lunch stop and time to explore the extraordinary fortress architecture.

Return via Zagora and the sweeping Draa Valley — Morocco's longest palm-lined river valley.

The Experience

More than just the destinations

Every itinerary is carefully curated to balance Morocco's most unforgettable landscapes, culture, and experiences — whilst still allowing the flexibility to customise the journey around your own pace, interests, and travel style.

Day 1

Ouarzazate Through the Rose Valley to the Dadès

Depart Ouarzazate east along the Route of 1,000 Kasbahs. Visit Kasbah Ameridil in the Skoura Oasis before crossing through the fragrant Rose Valley. Arrive in the Dadès Valley by evening. Dinner and overnight at your hotel.

Day 2

Todra Gorge to the Erg Chebbi Desert Camp

Walk the Todra Gorge after breakfast — 300-metre cliffs creating one of the most dramatic natural corridors in North Africa. Continue east to Merzouga. A sunset camel ride brings you into the heart of the Erg Chebbi dunes. At the Berber camp: a traditional feast, live drums and a remarkable desert sky.

Day 3

Sahara Sunrise and South to N'kob and Zagora

Sahara sunrise from the dune crest, then breakfast and departure south-west. Pass through N'kob — Morocco's village of 45 kasbahs — with a panoramic lunch stop and time to explore the extraordinary fortress landscape. Continue to Zagora. Dinner and overnight.

Day 4

Draa Valley to Ouarzazate

After breakfast, drive north through the Draa Valley — a long, palm-fringed corridor of ancient ksour and nomadic encampments — back to Ouarzazate.
